I have been looking forward to writing this blog post and I am delighted to finally have the time to share this special wedding with you all.
This wedding was extra special as it was my own sister Elaine’s wedding day. The first in our house to get married and she did it in style. My sister married her now husband Kevin on the 30th of May last year, he has been a very welcome additon to our family ever since.
On the day I had a special role as chief bridesmaid and it was on honour to do so. I also took on the role as make up artist for the bridal party make ups, which of course I loved doing, as always there was lots of giggles and fun had on the morning, and we were all exited for the exiting day that lay ahead. Thankfully due to my sisters organisation skills everything ran like clock work on the morning, and we were all ready with plenty of time for some selfies and bubbles before we went to the church.
As always last minute touch ups before the bride leaves the house.
For Elaine’s bridal make up look I used soft pearls & a mix of golds & browns which worked really well with her eye colour, I lined her water line with a white eye pencil to help brighten and open the eyes, and of course individual lashes as always. For the cheeks i used a soft contour, topped with a soft pink blush and finished of with some highlighter. Elaine wore a soft pink lipstick from chanel, I loved this make up look and it really suited her and complimented her wedding dress beautifully.
Elaine’s wedding dress was simply stunning, with pretty pearl & bead embellishment adding beautiful detail to the top of the dress, Elaine bought her dress in Sharon Gregory Design Cork, a classic yet comfortable design that ensured the bride was able to dance the night away.
Elaine had three lovely bridesmaids, we wore stunning Pinky/Choral dresses which had a lovely cream lace top on them, to accessorise we wore rose gold accessories.
For us bridesmaids I kept the make up feminine & girly to really compliment the colour scheme, so a mix of rose golds, soft pinks complimented each bridesmaid perfectly. Mac lipstick Syrup was my chosen choice for us on the day, one of my favourite go to lipsticks.
The bridesmaid dresses came from a fab shop Maria’s Bridesmaid Boutique Co. Cork that stocks a large selection of bridesmaid dresses in every colour.
Hair stylist on the day was Anna Molloy/Brennan of Anna Danielles Hair & Beauty who has been Elaine’s hair stylist for years, she really knows her hair inside out, we were all delighted with the beautiful styles she created on the day.
Elaine chose not to wear a veil and instead she wore a stunning hair piece in her hair from Willow & Wild by Bonzie in Waterford, for any bride it is well worth a visit, the three bridesmaids also wore stunning rose gold clips from here, pictured below.
There it is again, my serious concentration face, as Myself and Anna give the bride some last minute touch ups.
Photographer on the day was Mr. Ninja himself Ross Costigan Photography, My family still talk about how great he was on the day, he captured my sisters wedding day to perfection, I have really enjoyed reminiscing looking back through the photos for this blog post.
I must also give a special mention to the stunning mother of the bride, who shone in a beautiful floor length beaded champagne outfit. She received so many lovely compliments on the day from everyone.
The flowers in the church & the bridal party bouquets were created by talented Flower stylist Teresa Walsh of Teresa’s wedding flower designs. I think the photos speak for themselves, the flowers were just stunning.
After the beautiful wedding ceremony, we headed of to Kilkenny Castle and the surrounding areas for some fun bridal party photos, there was lots of giggles and some bubbles to add to the fun. These are some of my faveorites.
Next stop was the reception in the newly renovated Springhill Court Hotel, they really pulled out all the stops and ensured that the day was perfect in every way for Elaine & Kevin.
I must also mention our three brothers Michael, John & Kevin, who helped in every way possible on the day!
The Maher family with our new brother in law.
The wedding Cake was made by the amazingly talented Joanne Bibby of The Hobby Cakery, who makes cakes for family & friends as a hobby. The pictures speak for themselves it really was a piece of art.
I hope you enjoyed reading this blog post as much as I enjoyed writing it, It is always a pleasure to be a part of any brides wedding morning but in particular when it is a close friend or family member. Weddings are such happy occasions and the memories from these days will be treasured.
